The Simmons School of Social Work and the Field Educator sponsor an annual award to promote excellence in field education scholarship. A $1,000 prize will be awarded for an outstanding paper on social work field education. The winning paper will be announced at the 2014 Annual Program Meeting (APM) of the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) and will be published in the Fall or Spring issue of the Field Educator. All entries must meet the submission guidelines for the Field Scholar section of the Field Educator.

In addition, papers will be evaluated against the following criteria:

  • demonstrates rigor and relevance in addressing an important issue regarding field education
  • contributes to the advancement of understanding and innovation in field education

Eligibility:

Papers must be submitted and accepted to the Field Scholar section of the Field Educator for consideration.

Papers must be original manuscripts not previously published or submitted to other publications while under consideration by the jury.

Articles which are published in the peer-reviewed Field Scholar section of the April 2014 issue of the journal and articles accepted for publication in the Field Scholar section of the October 2014 issue will be eligible for the 2014 Excellence in Field Education Scholarship Award.
