Social work field education has been in the national spotlight in recent months. The Field Summit at the 2014 CSWE Annual Program Meeting brought together 100 field directors and deans in an event designed to explore current issues in field education.
In response to requests from field educators around the country, NANFED hosted a Post-Summit Field Dialogue at the 2014 APM as well, attended by over 140 people. Reports on both of these events, including summaries of the themes raised in each, are available on the NANFED website.
We were very pleased to see field education featured in the March issue of NASW NEWS. NANFED President and Treasurer Lisa Richardson was interviewed for the story, and spoke of the “layers of learning” in field. The article, including comments by CSWE Council on Field Education Chair Jo Ann McFall and reflections from three recent MSW graduates, is available online.
The North American Field Educators and Directors website contains information on field education around the country, including lists of regional consortia and information on membership. We invite you to take a look!
