The North American Network of Field Educators and Directors (NANFED) is pleased to announce several events at the 2014 CSWE Annual Program Meeting (APM), in Tampa, FL. All are welcome as we consider best practices in field education and celebrate exemplars of the signature pedagogy of social work education.
Post-Summit Field Dialogue: Friday, October 24, 2014, 5:00 to 6:30 PM, Tampa Convention Center, Ballroom B. New and unique for this year, the NANFED Board has arranged this opportunity for expanded dialogue about field education and the ideas generated at the 2014 Field Summit.
NANFED Business Meeting: Saturday, October 25, 2014, 6:30 to 7:30 PM, Marriott Tampa Bay Waterside Hotel, Meeting Rooms 5 and 6. Attend to hear about the work of NANFED over the course of the past year and plans for work in this coming year. Learn also about becoming a member of NANFED to support this work.
NANFED Award Reception: Saturday, October 25, 7:30 to 8:30 PM, following the Business Meeting, in the same location, Marriott Tampa Bay Waterside Hotel, Meeting Rooms 5 and 6. We hope you will join us as we present two very special awards. The Heart of Social Work Award, honoring a field instructor for excellence in field education, will be awarded to Illana Perlman. New this year, the The Dean Schneck Memorial Award for Distinction in Social Work Field Education, will recognize Emeline Homonoff, faculty emeritus at Simmons College, and founding editor of the Field Educator Journal. Light refreshments will be served.
